Skilled, Experienced Representation for All Criminal Cases from Marijuana to Murder
No offense is minor when you or your loved one is the one charged, so it is very important that you speak with an experienced attorney. Whether you have been charged with DUI, drug offenses, underage drinking, disorderly conduct, or any other crime, Attorney McClenahen will seek the best result possible given the facts of the individual case. He has extensive trial experience in front of both judges and juries. He has an impressive win-loss record in jury trials: his total win-loss record is 25-12-1, with a record of 20-7-1 in non-felony drug trials and 5-5 in felony drug trials.* He has also negotiated with the prosecution for reduced charges and favorable plea agreements.
Advocacy for People Charged with Drug and Alcohol Offenses
Attorney Matt McClenahen handles DUI cases for both first-time offenders and people who have multiple DUI/DWI offenses. He also defends college students who are from Penn State and other area colleges and have been charged with DUI and underage drinking. In addition, he helps to clear underage drinking charges from the criminal records of people who have turned twenty-one.
Attorney McClenahen understands the intricacies of the law concerning drug offenses and represents defendants in both misdemeanor and felony drug charges.
Attorney McClenahen's experience helps him to navigate the criminal law system as he defends clients against drug charges. Because a drug conviction can result in jail time, loss of driver's license, and loss of student loans, he pursues suppression of illegally obtained evidence and negotiates with the prosecution, endeavoring to reach a favorable plea agreement when appropriate.
Defense and Mitigation of Diverse Criminal Charges
Attorney Matt McClenahen has experience in defending clients against a range of criminal charges. In addition to assisting clients charged with assault, harassment, property crimes, and other crimes, Attorney McClenahen has represented those accused of sex offenses. He knows that the social stigma associated with rape or sexual assault charges can follow you for life. If you have been wrongfully charged with committing a sex crime, he can help you pursue vindication and the restoration of your good name. If you do not want to risk going to trial, he will strive to lessen the consequences.

*A win in a criminal trial does not necessarily mean an all-out acquittal, but a trial result that was better than the prosecutor's plea offer or the likely result had the defendant pled guilty to all charges without the benefit of a plea agreement. Thus, a defendant who was charged with the first-degree felony of aggravated assault, but is convicted of only the second-degree misdemeanor or simple assault, won his trial, because he was convicted of a much less serious offense. Had he been convicted of aggravated assault, he would probably have been sent to state prison, while a conviction for simple assault could result in a sentence of probation. However, if the client has only one charge and is convicted, McClenahen still considers this a loss for win-loss record purposes even if the sentence turns out to be more favorable than the sentence offered pursuant to a plea agreement.
It is important to note that the facts and witnesses of every case are unique, every jury is composed of a different group of people, every judge has a different style, and the experience and skill levels of prosecutors vary tremendously. Attorney McClenahen's prior success in trials is not a guarantee that he will win any given future trial.
